european parliament

In advance of the European elections, Advocates for Animals has written a letter to our prospective MEPs asking for a meeting, should they be successfully elected. The purpose of this meeting would be to introduce our animal welfare agenda for the next session of the European Parliament.

Our current campaigns

Primate-Free Progress

The European Union is reviewing its policy on animal experiments for the first time in over 20 years. We have an historic opportunity to influence change.

LOOK OUT for SEALS

Thousands of seals are shot in Scottish waters every year. We think this killing should stop. We are calling on the Scottish Government to include full protection for seals in its new Marine Bill.

Ban snares

Scottish Government Minister for Environment, Michael Russell MSP, recently announced that he has decided not to ban snares and would introduce measures to regulate the continued use of these cruel and indiscriminate traps.

Tesco - Please Go Cage-Free!

After months of campaigning by Advocates and other animal protection groups, Tesco still continues to sell eggs from chickens kept in battery cages. With no room to stand up, stretch their wings or experience the outdoors, battery hens face a short and miserable life behind battery cage bars.
